are white americans son of english people?

Yes I know there are irish, germans, spanish, italian. I am taking about colonists of 13 colonies.

    The majority in the original 13 colonies were of British (English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish - at the time they were considered British too) heritage. But don't forget that the Dutch and the Germans had footholds in what would later become the US too. Much of the New York colony still included a lot of Dutch even a hundred years after New Amsterdam became New York and Fort Orange became Albany. The term "Pennsylvania Dutch" is still a thing to this day and German Mennonites featured prominently in that colony as well.
