Why doesn't the US Navy have Corvettes?

    Because the US NAVY calls them patrol boats instead.

    Because they preferred  Trans Ams.

    We never had them

    Closest thing were the PGs (Patrol Gunboats) the last ones were the Ashville Class built in from the mid 1960s until early 1970s) .The Ashville was PG84 the first out of 19 that were built.. After they were decommissioned  the Frigate became the smallest Warship in the US Navy

    "A corvette is a small warship. It is traditionally the smallest class of vessel considered to be a proper (or "rated") warship. The warship class above the corvette is that of the frigate."

    U.S. Navy has plenty of frigates.

    Have you ever looked in the parking lot for officers deployed on ships and subs, there are plenty of corvettes parked there
