Can I use corn starch to make caramel sauce ?

What is the cornstarch supposed to do--thicken it? Just caramelize the sugar and add butter or cream.

All you really need is an electric pressure cooker and a can of Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk. Strip the label and any glue off the can, put it in the cooker on it's side with water to cover it halfway up, and process on high for 40 to 45 minutes.

there is no thickener needed to make caramel sauce. Find a recipe and follow it. AND if you were thinking of using corn starch instead of sugar,,,thats not gonna happen either.

no. No caramel sauce recipe I have ever seen calls for cornstarch or thickener of any kind.
Sugar, cream, butter and salt.
