Why my eczema does not itch?

My dermatologist has diagnosed it as eczema. It's on the back on my hands only, since 2012. It's mild but it has never itched (luckily). Is it even eczema? I have read online that eczema must itch, otherwise it's not eczema. And honestly doctors are wrong and lazy sometimes.

Atopic dermatitis does not always itch.  It could also just be very dry, sensitive skin.  Have you tried applying aveeno or other sensitive, dry skin OTC formulation?  I have both dry skin and eczema, and yes eczema itches like a b*tch.  Doctors usually go with what seems likely...find a different dermatologist if this one isn't helping you.

Not all 'eczema' itches.  Also 'eczema' is a catch all for the same or similar symptoms for many different causes.
