How do I teach others my motto that "Opinions don't matter, relationships do"?

My parents love holding grudges and pushing them onto me to get me to go against others in the family that they begrudge. I do not feel this is morally right. Thus my creed of "opinions don't matter, relationships do". Do how do I teach this?

Best you can do is live your personal mantra each day, as behavior by example can be effective.  Feel free to share your perspective but do not assume others will automatically agree with and take up your mindset. Live life as makes sense to you and allow others to observe.

You can try and teach all you want, but understand it's their choice if they decide to learn. Lead by example regardless of what they choose.
