Why people compare coronavirus to the Spanish flu?

Coronavirus been around for 7 months. And over 500,000 deaths "worldwide."

The Spanish Flu first year in "America" wiped out over half a million.

It is a partisan technique to deny & deflect.

Covid-19 is an out of control disease, aside from killing it leaves some victims with lifelong conditions and it became the #1 killer of Americans a few weeks ago (Heart disease was #1, killing an average 1,774 per day).

In order to avoid dealing with the problem, some people want you to believe it's no big deal.  Someone today said “Now we have tested almost 40 million people. By so doing, we show cases, 99 per cent of which are totally harmless,”.

To act responsibly, national leaders need to first admit, there is no cure right now and we still don't know the full nature of Covid-19, that we need to stay home as much as possible, maintain the 6-foot rule and wear masks if we do go out. But some leaders are timid little children, who are terrified of admitting they have no answers.

I think this is abnormal comparison.

The comparison is because it is worldwide but the reason why this one is so bad is that flu is seasonal no matter how many it kills when the flu season ends so does the pandemic. This one has no season and can go on indefinitely unless people agree to follow strict rules of quarantine and distancing until it is over otherwise it will start up again like it did in Florida.

It's possible after one year deaths in the US from covid 19 could be around half a million. We've had 128,000 in 5 months, everyone said it would slow down in the summer months, it hasn't, and now younger are people are catching it and some are dying... and there's still no end in sight.

    It's all about the numbers/distraction.

There is NOTHING about the Coronavirus that HASN'T been adulterated by the FAKE media.

Few people have wondered why they were called "FAKE media" since before the 2016 election, and then SUDDENLY, when an elaborate plan to discredit Donald Trump is set into motion, they're ALL OF A SUDDEN THE "TRUSTED SOURCE FOR ACCURACY".

They've been in the Democrats' pockets for 4 years, promoting their "get Trump" agenda, and yet, they now maintain a "neutral" position and are considered the definitive source for truth.

The Democrat fearmongers have created a generation of insecure and confused sheep that they can't even accept the fact that there are only two genders. They're afraid of their own shadow and go into a panic at the sight of a splinter in their finger.

They're so irrational that one of the most frightening things to them is "brain-eating amoebas". Their reality is based on science fiction.

THESE are the ones buying into the COVID-19 scare. They're easily manipulated and once they go into a panic it spreads like the effects of someone yelling fire in a crowded movie theater.

The Spanish flu was no more "exotic" than the run-of-the-mill flu - because that's all it was. The reason it was labeled "Spanish" flu was that Spain was where it took the largest toll - before it was brought to the US by the troops fighting in WW1.

The flu wasn't well-publicized in the US because the media was forbidden to relate most of the bad news of the war that wasn't related to the war itself. The reason was to prevent sagging morale for the troops.

COVID-19 has had several "origins" - one claim is that it came from an unsanitary fish market. One "origin" was that it was a strain of pneumonia that was reported to the WHO in December 2019.

This one is interesting because "pneumonia" was cited as the cause originally, and within a month, "pneumonia" became a *possible* complication of COVID. How can the *CAUSE* be a *possible side effect*??

The story on COVID changes as many times as new media coverage becomes available.

COVID-19 is a Democratic HOAX - it's their last stand to try and take down Donald Trump. He exposed their corruption and TREASON and prevented Marxism from being established under a Hillary Clinton administration.

I've been predicting for months that the election fraud in 2016 was nothing like what we're going to see this time around. 2016 was like a Sunday afternoon drive to granma's house compared to what's going on now.

    1) both are incurable 2) both are viral epidemics which affected the USA.

The mortality rate of the coronavirus is very low.  Similar to a mild seasonal flu.

I would compare it to the Hong Kong Flu 1968.

    Killed about 1-2 million worldwide.

Asian Flu in 1957. Killed about 1-4 million worldwide.
