Why are saw blades packed in water? ?

    I never saw any kind of saw blade packed in water or any other liquid. 

    What kind of blade is it? 

    Who sells it that way?

    You need to learn a lot more than you presently know 

    before you touch any tools.

    That won't be water.  If anything, it's a light mineral oil.

    I would have thought it was mineral oil to keep moist air off the metal and avoid oxidation (rust). Rather an old fashioned practice.

    They ARE NOT packed in water. In some case, they are packed in LIQUID to prevent water from causing rust.

    Update to comment: Some kind of oil.

    I have never seen any saw blades packed in water. Why kind of blades are you asking about?
