This happens every year.  There is no native phosphate in Florida.   Those phosphate mines are digging up phosphate from the Saharan winds deposited there for millions of years. Some plants in S. America will not bloom if the Saharan winds do not deposit the yearly phosphate. From those winds. This year it is a thin high density stream.  So the U.S. will get more than normal this year.

Today in some places and through the coming weekend.  You can look this up on any weather app.

Its been all over the US virgin islands for a few days now. It looks like a storm cloud except its dust in the area. Really really weird. It happens every couple years but not to this extent. I would guess that it would continue to blow over for the next few weeks and possibly hit over southern united states in that time. Due to the wind direction I dont think it will be as bad as it is in the USVI though.
