Why do celebrities have no backbone?

Question

Whenever they say a racially insensitive thing they always end up apologizing.  So why don't they get a backbone and say "Yeah, I said it and I meant it"?

it's probably something to do with their contract and their image. them doing that might mess up the whole money chain in their personal industry and career

Because they're too concerned about their wealth, fame and image
