Why does my truck start in 4WD?

After a roadtrip, I noticed that my 2019 Chevy Silverado always starts in 4WD and I have to change it to “Auto” or 2WD, though when driving it definitely still feels like 4WD

and the icon on the dash is orange for some reason. Also, when I shift to park, the truck automatically puts on the electronic parking brake. Any advice or knowledge as to why this is happening?

The vehicle is SUPPOSED to set the parking brake when you shift into park. Have someone read the owner's manual for you to determine what you did to set 4WD as the default.

Note: I know you commented to another answer that you read the owner's manual. That is why I said to have someone else find the information for you.

    2019...you have a warranty I assume.

Go to the dealer. You have a warranty yet on the transmission and transfer case.

It might be a good time to start reading the owner's manual.
