When reading a somewhat historic novel would you prefer...?

that hirstoric period practiced sibling-marriage. the specific couple had no children.

would you prefer to read a novel like this with sibling marriage handled like:

- jaime and cersei

- purely politic

- something in between (like trying to arrange their lives and emotions around that marriage but failing; trying to produce heirs but failing; something that i haven't thought of...)

I think (I haven't read the book or watched the interminable TV series, but I think) you are talking about "Game of Thrones".

The novels are not even somewhat historic.

The two characters you mention are not married, indeed their relationship is considered very transgressive because they are siblings.

    They do have children

So if you want to write about sibling marriage you can forget GoT.

As is so often the case, Sir Caustic for best answer.

This is so elemental that it doesn't matter what a handful of strangers at YA might prefer. Write the one that's most interesting to you.

Sounds to me like you haven't thought. At all.
