which is more correct ? " I could care less" or " I couldn't care less" And is there any difference ?

Since the meaning of both is "this doesn't matter to me", there is really no difference, despite the obvious difference between "could" and "couldn't."

Of course there's a difference. In the first case you are saying you can actually have a lower opinion than you now have. In the second case you are saying your opinion now is as low as it's going to get.

Could you care less or not? The typical saying is "couldn't" implying you care so little you couldn't possible care any less.
