If you had 10 marbles total (reds and blues) and gave each student 1 red and 1 blue marble, how many students got marbles? Well, each student would have 2 marbles (a red and a blue). 10 divided by 2 gives you 5. So there are 5 students.

Your problem is the same thing. One bag has 3 crackers and 6 gummies, which mean there are ____ goodies in the bag. Divide 108 goodies total by how many goodies in one bag and you'll have your answer!

Source(s): I've taught math plus many other subjects. And have helped out lots of students to help them better understand and learn.

I would guess the answer is 108 divided by 9.

    12

    108 goodies / 9 goodies per bag = 12 bags?
