Why do so many Christians misunderstand biblical salvation?

For some reason, a lot of Christians seem to have this idea that the way people get to Heaven is by being a “good person” and that if someone goes to Hell, it’s because they weren’t “good enough” to go to Heaven or they didn’t do enough good deeds.  They should know that this is not what the Bible teaches about salvation.

I have heard a lot of Protestants make that claim, yet I have never heard of a church that actually taught anything like that. The original and true Christian Church, the one Church Jesus founded, which He said was to remain one, to which He promised the fullness of God's truth until the end of time, has consistently taught for 2,000 years that "Salvation is a free gift of God that cannot be earned or merited".

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16 is the requirement for salvation.

Now one needs to rightly divide the word in John 3:16 to understand what is being stated. You have to "believeth in him", The Lord Jesus Christ. Now if you truly believe in Jesus then you believe All THAT HE DID and ALL THAT HE TAUGHT and you live it and you do it.

You believe he is the "only begotten Son" of God.

If you truly believe, then you live the life of a Christian put forth in the Bible.

The answer on how to obtain salvation is in the Bible, all should read and study it.

James 1:22 "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."

For the same reason you do.  Tradition and a misunderstanding of what the Bible actually says.

Jesus Christ says plainly that he shall reward us according to our works.  Faith without works is dead, and so are we.

You should know YOU LIE and in attacking the REAL Chrsitians prove why Christianity has been split into over 39,500 different denominations, sects and cults setting Christian against Christian and Christians against everyone else!

    God's work? Hardly!

It must be the Devil and the Antichrist working together to divide, conquer and destroy Christianity from the inside!

Stop PRETENDING to be Chrsitian and tell everyone what perverted sect or cult has indoctrinated you to do Satan's work!!!

The fact of the matter: The reason is because most Christians are not truly saved and they are like the scribes and the pharisees of God The Lord Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior day, they honor God with their lips but not their heart. The only way you can become saved is if God The Lord Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior saves some of us by grace, because we fell from grace we must be saved by God The Lord Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior grace only. Read Ephesians 2:1-10, read Romans 5:6-8, read Romans 6:4-6. The way we go to hell is what comes out of our mouth, read Mark 7:18-23, read James 3:5-18

Abiding faith in Jesus Christ is necessary for salvation. But, Jesus ... not the Bible ... is the only judge of what that actually means. See you on Judgment Day!

belief and repentance and a love for GOD and mankind is what GOD and the bible shows for salvation.

    is this difficult to see?

what is good enough for you?

    one sin = eternal death?

    two sins?

    three sins?

     100 sins = eternal damnation?

what if you believed upon GOD yet fell short and regretted this?

    GOD is judge.

    (not anyone else...)

     - got it?

LOVE is what leads to eternal life.

    love others?

    this fulfills the entire LAW.

repentance takes care of the rest.

using JESUS blood to atone for our mistakes is needed.

    are you saved?

    by whom and what?

or all of these? (in JESUS)

    GOD knows.......

No - Eye'Mac'You'Late and immaculate is probably the better. However, not one can say, as souls have to be tested and appropriate conversions ascertained or dispelled.

And no one knows what God desires to look into, as it is only reported to the Angels.

Well, Christians don't read the Bible, for one.

But moreover, Christians need a soteriology that allows them to guarantee that their enemies will burn in hell. This model allows them to simply DEFINE their enemies' actions as not being good, and therefore feel justified in condemning them to hell.

The worst thing a Christian can imagine is someone they don't like being shown grace by God without the Christian's explicit consent, as if God ever needed to ask their permission.
