Do nurse practitioners assist in surgeries? Perform surgeries?

    MAy be, but more common would be trained first assists. No midlevel would do a full surgery (not a simple procedure) by themselves.  Physician assistants are found more in surgery than NPs, and  it would be like in cardiothoracic, orthopedics, etc. Their specific program dictates what they do/scope of practice. So a peds NP would not be in the OR for example.

    Not typically but they can in certain areas, and if they've been trained or going on to more specialties
