In simple terms, what is the difference between hydrolysis and corrosion.?

    Hydrolysis is dissolving or reacting a substance with water.

    Corrosion is the reaction of usually a metal with oxygen, eg rusting of iron is an example of a corrosion process.

    Note that there are more sophisticated explanations in high schools and colleges for these terms.
