I rode over my safety glasses with my lawn mower could i have damaged the blade?

I had my safety glasses handing in my pocket and they dropped but i didn't know and rode over them. I didn't have them on because i was waiting to cut under the pine tree. It was quite loud when i drove over them. Could i have damaged the blade?

Update:

Actually, they were just regular cheap plastic safety glasses not glass.

Safety glasses will not harm a steel lawn mower blade, even if they did have glass lenses.

I doubt it but you should be sharpening that blade at least once per year. Always disconnect your spark plug wire before you start taking it off.

Your lawn mower would have to have an awfully flimsy blade, in order for it to be damaged by running over a pair of cheap plastic safety glasses with a riding lawn mower. Lawn mower blades are made out of sturdy metal.

People run over rocks and small limbs and all sorts of things with a lawn mower, and it doesn't hurt the blade..

I think what you heard was damage to the safety glasses, not to the blade.  But I could be wrong.

Your lawnmower is probably capable of chopping up a good sized tree branch. I doubt running over a pair of plastic glasses is going to do any damage, but if you're curious, turn the mower over and check.

I doubt it, but it might have dulled or nicked the blade a bit.

Won't hurt the blade, but probably made a loud noise when you hit them.
