Why do fat people run marathons?

Usually fat people come in last during a running marathon so why do they do it?

Because they're fit enough to run them, and I think you'll find the elderly and disabled are usually the ones who finish last.  They're only last in the race, but, ahead of the 66 million who didnt do it

What does coming in last have to do with anything? Many fat people DON'T come in last. Many people who aren't overweight may come in last or run slow. It's irrelevant. People run marathons because they want to. It could be a love of running, the challenge of being able to go that distance, in honor or memory of someone, to raise money for charity, bucket list item, to lose weight/get more fit during the training, etc.

ANYONE who trains and runs 26.2 miles has accomplished something really impressive (not many people can, or even try). It doesn't matter what their weight is or anything else about them. Being last (regardless of size) is better than not finishing. Not finishing is better than never starting.

Better a fat body than a fat head.

Personal satisfaction in the accomplishment. Setting a goal and meeting or surpassing it.

Because you can't. Maybe a fat guy does cross the finish line last, but you don't cross at all.
