How strong are the suckers on a octopus? 😊?

Just as octopi come in all sizes, the suckers vary in size. They can be quite tiny to almost a half foot across on giant beasts. The force can vary. Even a mid sized octopus can be quite difficult to get off a diver's face mask. If many arms are attached, that is a real danger.

They're strong enough to pry open a shellfish that's pretty powerful

The pressure difference between the water and the interior of a sucker is 100 Pa and the area of a sucker is 0.04m^2 so the force of suck is 4N.
I made those numbers up
