What spider is this?

They are living in my wood pile in Washington state.

My guess is a type of giant house spider but which type

    Well, it is a funnel weaver that include house spiders, grass spiders etc.

    A better shot of the abdomen pattern, could be more certain.

    No banding on the legs, likely a giant house spider or hobo spider, about as harmless as spiders come.
