    Because you think your special but you don't realize that your bisexual and unconsciously want some stimulation as proven by the bisexual psychoanalyst Freud(Search innate bisexuality, oedipus complex for more details).

    In some cultures, for example islamic culture, homosexuality is pretty much universally condemned and oftentimes punishable by death. There are lots of anti-gay passages in the Quran, and most of them are quite explicit and brutal by Western standards. The anti-gay passages in the Bible are tame in comparison.

    I guess it also has to do with the fact that homosexuality goes against traditional norms and the idea that we're supposed to produce offspring.

    Not just homophobia,  but why do with have racism, religious intolerance or people who delight in belittling the disabled or disadvantaged.  

    Why do people need to hold them self up to claim they are superior to others.
