Steam pasteurized almonds. Should I soak or roast?

Do I need to soak or roast steam pasteurized almonds?

Or are they safe to eat out of bag?

I would appreciate your help.

I buy Trader Joe's raw almonds (I think all almonds are pasteurized) in one-pound bags, and roast them in my air fryer at 450° for 10 minutes. Yum!

They are safe to eat out of the bag but you will probably get more flavor if you toast or roast them.

As they are pasteurised, they will be safe to eat straight from the bag. That is what pasteurisation is, heating to around 80C which will kill or inactivate bacteria which carry disease and/or cause the food to spoil. Virtually all milk is pasteurised, as is some fruit juices, and as you have found, some nuts.
