what types of masks will protect the wearer from coronavirus?

    None.  They will reduce the chance but it's like birth control, they aren't 100% effective.

  • A mask or face covering, that covers your nose and mouth with a filter. Don't get a cheap one they don't offer much protection and they will fall apart quickly. 

    N95 masks should be used by front line / medical workers who are more at risk of getting covid 19, since they're in contact with them regularly. Most people would be fine with wearing a mask that completely covers your nose and mouth, preferably with a filter.

    Pretty much I think any .... Long as it passes the "lighter cough" test .... Basically you get a lighter and light it up ... Hold it up in front and with the face mask on properly ... Cough hard and see if the lighter is still lit. X there are allot of really crap/fake ones out there now due to high command ... So be careful all the luck x

      I think this test will tell how much that mask protects OTHERS from you. The questioner wanted to know how to protect HIMSELF from aerosols. If he doesn't have professional PPE and the training to go with it, he is SOL and will have to rely on luck like the rest of us.
