Germany went from being an impoverished, violent, degenerate country in 1932 to arguably the most powerful on Earth by 1938. Why was this?

Update:

The US wasn't the most powerful country in the world back then, anon. If not Germany then it was Britain, which still had the world's largest navy and the pound as the world's primary reserve currency.

The only thing that changed was the financial picture. They grew even more violent and degenerate.

And one thing that helped to improve the financial picture was stealing from Jews and others, and forcing tens of thousands into slave labor to make munitions.

Because the League of Nations failed to kick Herr Schicklgruber's **** when they should have, thanks to a lack of support from the (actual) most powerful nation on the planet.
