Is there some kind of public defender for persons who are wrongfully cited on a parking violation and/or things of that nature?

In my city, parking tickets are appealed by filling out a form. You don’t need a lawyer for that.

Nope, a parking violation is a civil infraction or ordinance violation. Public defenders are for criminal cases

No, you don't get a public defender for that.

No, but you shouldn't need one if the case is truly specious. Gather your photos and proof this citation was in error and go defend yourself.

Public defenders are for criminal charges. You are on your own for a parking violation or other non-criminal infraction.

Contact the department that issued the ticket to see what their process is for contesting the charge. Often times, parking tickets can be appealed administratively before going to court.

No, you have to create your own defense.

Take pictures of where your car was and where the signs are to prove you were right. Take them to the judge.
