Can I back out of an apartment? I haven’t paid the deposit or signed the lease. I only paid the application fees.?

I decided not move out of parents home because it’s more convenient for my parents and me. You can say I got cold feet.

Update:

I know I will not get my application fee refunded.

Of course. An application fee isn't any sort of agreement

Sure. You can back out. You haven't signed anything.

If you've signed nothing, you're not required to move or pay anything else.

Yes, you can - you are not obligated by an application alone.  And no you won't get your application fee back.  It has likely been spent running a background check, etc.

As long as you haven't signed the lease you can back out. However you probably won't get the application fee back.

If you haven't signed anything you can change your mind.

    Yep

You don't get a refund of the application fee, but you can't be held liable if you haven't signed the lease.

If the landlord gets mad or threatens to sue you, just tell them to go to you know where. They won't sue you, and if they're stupid enough to try they will lose.

If you didn't sign the contract, there is no contract.
