Can I apply for the online fafsa if I’m undocumented but have a restricted social security?

    Yes, you can apply.  Your student aid report will return eligibility information that specifically states whether your status makes you eligible for aid or not.  Depending upon where you live, your college will advise you of your specific eligibility for institutional and/or state aid, or your need to obtain a student visa.

    No. To be eligible for federal student aid (FAFSA), you must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen. In most cases, a non-citizen is a legal permanent resident. A non documented student would not qualify

      The question was not whether they would qualify for it, though, the question was whether they could apply for it.  As long as they have a name and Social Security Number they are welcome to apply for anything they want.

      If you have a name and Social Security number, then you can apply for anything you like.  It does not mean you'll get it.
