What is this bug?

Seeing them pop around my house often lately. Ticks?

    Definitely curculionidae - maybe a black vine weevil? Look for circular notches cut into the outside edges of ornamental plants

    It appears to be some kind of seed bug. Completely harmless unless you are a tree.

      Interesting, recently living in a somewhat heavily wooded area could make sense of that since I'm so used to city living.

    It looks like a bedbug, they are blood sucking parasites. They aren't known for carrying any diseases, but they are still a nuisance. Google search them for the more gory details.

    Looks like a Weevil to me 

    They are quite harmless even if you ate one

    It's not a tick.  Ticks are arachnids so they have 8 limbs.  This only has 6 so it's an insect.  It looks some kind of beetle but I don't know what kind.
