is it ok or proper for a restaurant to solicit ratings and reviews from customers that come into the restaurant?

It is ok for someone to ask all the customers to come in to rate us with stars and give us a good review on social media? Why or why not? The restaurant does have stickers in the window that say rate us and follow us on social media.

Update:

What would you think of a restaurant that did that?

Asking for reviews on Google is a violation of terms of service. I have competitors that give themselves dozens of fake reviews every month. Every reviewer has only given one review or perhaps a few, for the same industry all over the USA in a matter of one day. Fakes are easy to spot, many are copy and paste.

Would you want to be asked every time you ate at a restaurant to review and rate with stars.
