It can be prevented if your computer wears a mask and gloves.

What the  others said. Personally if you catch a virus, just reformat the whole thing.  I only trust antivirus software to block things from arriving. Once something gets in, I don't trust them to pull it out. (why it got in to begin with,  right?)

go to  and  there is a list of free antivirus there that you can easily install,

if your computer is very old,  its gonna be slow and hard to run those programs so use them one at a time.

    yes          .

Yes most can. But there are a few that can't. A GOOD computer expert can remove almost any virus--but sometimes you suffer massive damage from them and that cannot be fixed.

Often times, yes, it's just a matter of running an AV program to remove the virus.

Backing up all of your important data to an external drive, flash drive or DVD/Blu-Ray is the best thing to do.  I've had issues with previous computers and couldn't get things to work at all.  Since I had a full backup, all I needed to do was format the drive and reinstall everything.  Yeah, it was a pain and took many hours, but it was simple and free.

Yes. M$ is working daily on this.  However the virus writers are one step ahead when they do write a new program that has not been seen before.

Spamware is ads that keep popping up when you don't want them (just because you visited a porn site once now you get a ton of email wanting to know if you want to get lucky.  Or lottery sites and they send a ton of mail because you might be interested in other stuff?  these are just advertisings that saw you were interested in hairy dildos so everybody that deals in that or whatever is going to contact you cause their site got pinged as your address shows you are a human shopper.  That is most of what people figure are viruses.

Viruses don't tell you in advance that they are going to destroy you.  They just destroy you. Can't buy your way out.

In general yes. There are tough ones out there that do a lot of things in order to prevent getting erased.
