The worst religious war of all time were the two wars in Iraq that God told us not to fight his wrath would be severe (some of his wrath are the 7 plagues of Revelation 15 and Revelation 16). Revelation 17.18 said that the United States attacked Iraq (richest and most powerful country in the world). Many nations would form a coalition in mere hours, according to revelation. Tanks would spew fire into the air, according to the ancient text of Revelation. Iraq was attacked twice, once by the Dragon, and once by the son of the Dragon, named the Beast (Bush and son). In between the administrations of father and son, there was a gap, in which Revelation said a different faction took power. (Revelation wrote of an administration that was, but was no more, then a gap in the administration (for Clinton), then the administration that was no more was again). While other wars were bloody, God was not fighting mankind. But this time, God was fighting as he never fought before. God's wrath is so bad that it is beyond anything seen by Lot (in Sodom), beyond anything seen by Adam and Eve (in the Garden of Eden), and beyond anything seen by Noah (world flooded and everyone but immediate family was killed, and the animals on the ark were saved). This time, God will destroy the entire world because his wrath is so great over the murder of over a million innocent Iraqis.

It wasn't the Christian crusades, although the Muslims almost dominated the world till France

He worst religious war was the war in heaven where 1/3 of the angels fought Lucifer to take the throne of God. Unlike TV series such as Supernatural, no one should fight God

That said , I would say the twentieth century had the most deaths , communism and atheism were at the heart of false doctrine from evolution and therefore 262 million people died

Communism does not count as a war as other rulers in history caused millions of deaths, such as colonialism killed 100s millions of people throughout the centuries.

The Taiping Rebelion was more deadly with twice as many deaths in half the time, but I don't call it a religious war ( one side was religious but the other side not so much). The 30 years war between Catholics and  Protestants was a proper religious war.

Without a doubt, the Taiping Rebellion in 1850 through 1864. Around 20-30 million and some estimates put it as high as 45 million deaths. Worst than WW1 death toll in comparison.
