Not really.  You see the UK doesn't do that really intense fandom like Americans do.  That would be considered naff and nobody wants to be naff.  Secondary school pupils (that's high school students) don't go through a Beatlemania phase as part of puberty.  Likewise Monty Python isn't shown on a loop on tv like it is on US public broadcasting along with all the other UK sitcoms nobody here has seen since they were first broadcast decades ago.  A lot of things foreigners think are typically British passions utterly mystify Brits.  The Beatles were only big to the generation who was young while they were still a performing band.

This is a click bait question to enrage the sane and promote furious debate.

UK never had real rock music, only an orchestral mock version of rock, so when a band of UK kids could sound even remotely like the American originals it was a big thing to celebrate for a little island of dizzy uncultured historical revisionists with no solid lasting musical culture tradition. So, yes I think they were popular but no I don't think they raise an eyebrow today. The Who might.

    • 😂 yet you Yanks went more nuts for them and the Stones than we did.

Seldom heard of. You do do realise that 2 of them have died and Paul and Ringo are in their 70s.

Yes but Mozart and Bach are dead so presumably no one likes their totally overlooked work these days?

Vacaville has some spare locked wards if you are keen on booking into one.
