It is possible but at this moment in time it is not controllable , as we travel in space ships and orbit the earth we age more slowly than our colleagues not in the space ship and so we time travel. Dr Who and his tardis is possible but not yet .... who knows what the future may bring us ?

It may well be possible but what is not possible is what you imagine time travel to be.  We KNOW what the past was already.  If you could somehow travel back then everything must be what it was.  Including you.  You would know only what you knew then.  And you DIDN'T know anything about the future then did you?  So if you COULD travel back in time you couldn't KNOW that you had gone back in time.

Similarly if you went to the future the same argument applies.  You would be what you will become in the future.  With all that knowledge of events that haven't happened yet.  So you couldn't know that you had traveled there .  All your memories would indicate the opposite.

Ie you may or may not be able to travel in time yet you could never know it.

can only go forward in time...not backwards...if you could go backwards...the dead would rise...literally..

It is not time to discover it yet. Wait two more cycles.

There is no evidence of it ever happening. Something that has happened  in the past cannot be changed. For example; if someone new about Hitler, could they go back and assassinate him, before he came to power? Then WW2 would never have happened?🙃🤔

Impossible because how would you know if you traveled back in time because if you change it then you wouldn’t know that you travelled back in time.

Or what if you built a time machine to change the past. If you change the past then there would be no reason to build the time machine in the first place.

Or if you traveled back in time and changed the past, you would change everything that not only affects you but other people.

I'm in the not camp.   That said it is NOT for the reasons most might state.  I question whether or not "time" exists at all.

What if time is just a mental construct created by humans to help them organize and manage their lives/surroundings?

Does the universe really bother with time?

Solve that one definitively and one might then be able to travel the universe.  Right now - it takes too much "time" to travel even to the closest star system.  Take time out of the equation and R*T=D becomes R=D .... and you can litterally pop in and out of locations in .... wait for it..... see it coming yet?   NO Time!   =_)

Causal loops and paradoxes. Time travel of a sort MIGHT be possible with a spinning black hole, but the nearest one to us is hundreds of light years away.

    Of course not.

Besides, The Vulcan Science Directorate has concluded that time travel is impossible.

Because time is linear and is not relative to your position in the universe.
