Would a local school allow me to play their instruments?
I would like access to a double bass to record a few sounds for an audio that I am working on. Would a local university or school allow me access to their music room to record some audio?

Some are going to say yes, some are going to say no. We have no idea knowing which one of the two you will go to.

The can tell you. Just ask softly.

In normal times there would be no reason why you shouldn't ASK a local school. Some schools might be willing, others might not.
But at present it's most unlikely.
But it wouldn't do any harm to ASK. Email; it's unlikely many schools would be manning their phones just now.

You'd have to ask, and confirm if there'd be any cost or other implications.

Most students have their own instruments. Schools don’t usually provide them.

1. That is likely restricted to students.
2. With the coronavirus pandemic, most schools are closed. No chance, even if you are a currently enrolled student.

That may be possible in normal times. Right now, I don't think there is a single college open in the country.

Yes, absolutely. I would give it a try and contact their personnel there.

Highly unlikely, particularly during the pandemic, when all college facilities are locked up tight.
