Is it appropriate for a 17 year old boy to take ibuprofen every day for tooth pains or is this bad?

Alternate between asprin and ibuprofen

It can lead to stomach problems if you take it too much. Also high blood pressure. Try not to use it for more than a few weeks

Not a good idea for long periods of time, but since you cannot see a dentist due to the virus, you'll have to do it for now.

Gobs of women out here in the world take motrin every month for menstrual pain. Some take prescription motrin. EVERY MONTH. And some are large doses daily for a few days at the time.
If we aren't dead, you'll probably have the same experience

Of course that is bad. He should get his tooth fixed or pulled. Don't let an infection spread and mask the symptoms!

Every day for how long? Your teeth are no joke, and the underlying problem needs to be addressed. You will get to the point where ibuprofen no longer helps the pain. Teeth can also become infected and affect your entire body. Worst case scenario is death.
