Why do some questions disappear?

I was called names but didn't report it then my question was removed.

Can this be done by trolls who are abusive then have the question removed after 5 mins?

Update 2:

Daniel I haven't done anything wrong, obviously a wrong has been done to me.

I wish people would read the context of the question. 😕

Posts are removed when enough users report them as violations. Without knowing exactly what the question was (including any updates) we can't tell you if it was a violation or not. Yes, name-calling is also a violation and should be reported. There is no way to know if any name-call responses to your question were also reported or not, before the question was removed.

Forget the answers, if your question was a violation, it is judged independently by the reporting system. If you want to know the reason for the violation, post "Why was this question (answer) a violation?" and add the original e-mail you got and/or any details you remember so the users can see the exact context. The experienced users here will explain it to you. Many times the violation is not in the question, but in the added details and updates.

  • Questions can disappear if they are reported and removed.  They can also disappear by being ghosted.  This is when a question can not be seen in the subcategory you posted it in but if you go to your profile activity page you can see it.  If this happens you need to move the question to another subcategory and then back again to the subcategory you posted it in.  It will now show but could also be ghosted again.  So keep track on the question.

Most Likely Due to a Violation of the Yahoo Answers Community Guidelines

Check the Rule Book to see what you may have Done wrong if After Reading you find you did nothing Wrong then Appeal use the Alternative Appeal Form

If you got a Violation Email Notice dont use the Link from the Message that one is not working Correctly you will get a Error message saying it did not come from your Account

If you Post on here what the Question was we may be able to tell you what you did wrong If you did anything wrong at all

    To Appeal go here

Select Contact a Yahoo Specialist then Appeals then Follow the Instructions from there

They were reported as violations by more than one account.
