Have you heard this saying/what does it mean.?

“Jobs a good one, child’s a black” was something my father often said whenever he had just completed a task which could be anything from fixing the car to finishing cooking dinner. Something I always wondered was what does it actually mean. Just a fun question that hoping someone knows the answer to.

"Job's a good un" is, according to several sources, a common phrase in the north of England, meaning that a job is finished and well done. I think you must have misheard the second part.
