Not one family member has texted me to ask how I AM coping in this isolation, I’m alone with no one, why should I text first?

Surely they can make an effort??

It’s always me texting before COVID..

They do not talk on phone.

We all live in different places.

Update:

Why is it always me who texts first??

Update 2:

Even a casual friend text yet they cannot

Update 3:

Families can hurt the most

We're in the middle of a pandemic.  Does it really matter who texted first?

Relationships are a two way street. If they are answering your texts that counts as effort. The fact that you initiate is only an example that you care more, not that you are alone.

I sometimes feel that way myself. But, I know it's childish. If you want to talk to your family reach out to them. There will eventually come a time when you can't. So, do it now while you can.

Just pick up the goddam phone. Don't be childish.

    Be happy about it.

The constant, "ARE you DEAD yet?"  and "Where is the will?" gets annoying quickly.

Sounds like your family (like mine) are afraid to to talk on the phone for fear the virus will also be transmitted.

That's how it is in a lot of families. I have brothers who hardly ever contact me, but it is still a comfort to know that they are available if I ever need them, and vice versa. It is certainly true that you can pick your friends, your family you are stuck with.
