Would it be fine to put a ferret in a dog crate with hammocks, food, water, litter box ,and a bed when I go to school ?

    Not unless it's an absolutely enormous crate that you build levels into. Ferrets need a lot of space and room to climb. Additionally they should not be roaming free while you sleep, either.

    No, too small. It will die of sadness and it will be your fault. Ferrets aren’t for kids

    ferrets should not be confined in a cage for long periods of time. Is there anyone at home who can play and look after it? Why not put the ferret in a large area eg the laundry with bed toys water and food.

    There are dog crates big enough (the ones for huge dogs like great danes) but the problem with these is the bars are too big. You would have to cover the bars in hardware cloth. It would also be a good idea to add a level or two. So if you want to modify a crate it will work but you cant use it as is.
