Rice, canned goods, salted fish or cured meats, or frozen meats. Frozen veg. In case of loss of electricity, the salted meats can last a good amount of time and the rice and canned goods are good to go. Dried beans are great, preserves are good as well such as fruits in mason jars kept in dark places.

Canned items. Dry pasta, rice, legumes. Frozen foods, although they should be used within 3 months. Nuts and seeds will last a while, but last longer if you freeze them. Peanut butter will last a long time, especially if you keep it in the fridge.
