Normally cashiers are not the best person to ask for assistance.  They are assigned to a fixed position.  The customer should ask for assistance with a floor worker or service area associate.  The cashier may be able to direct the customer to the proper route to assistance.

  • If this happens again... You should find out if your store still carries it by asking a co worker or your manager. If it's been discontinued or they company doesn't make it any more, then your store can't carry it. Try looking around in the back of the store, (if there's a place for it on the shelves), if it's not there then it may be just sold out. If they want to complain after that, they can go to the manager or call some one else.

Call someone to find out if you carry it, get what size they want and have someone get it for the customer.

Tell them politely you'll mention it to management when your shift is over.
