Did UK Military have body guards?

Still do, the home secretary can approve the use of a bodyguard with a handgun, they are not completely banned if someone is famous enough to need that. However, Harry should pay for that himself as every other very famous British person does. He seems to be just switching off parts of public life that he doesn't like and keeping others when really he should be told to carry on with his duties or get nothing at all unless he pays. For example Paul McCartney will have a bodyguard with a handgun but will have to cover the cost of that himself, why is Harry still entitled to that for free if he is giving up public duties?
