In most cases, the seat belt light will stay on when the seat belt sensor is damaged, or the housing where the buckle is inserted is damaged and needs to be replaced.

    Wear your seat belt.

Make sure nothing is ON the passenger seat.  That may be the reason the light is on.  I assume you wear a seat belt too so that would cancel the driver's seat belt light.

    Put your seat belts on.

    Clean and tighten the wiring.

do you want to fix it or just get rid of the light? If you unplug the wire going to the buckle it will put the light out in most old systems the switch in the buckle is normally closed so disconnecting the wire will make the light go out. Once proven the switch in the buckle has worn out replace the buckle if you want it to work. Most of the time its the buckle. start there anyway.

Just like you fix anything. Determine why it's broke then repair it

Cover the light with a piece of tape.

Assuming you are wearing your seatbelt and it's still on try the above.

You fix it by getting a scanner that can read the SRS codes and either fixing or replacing whatever is causing the error.
