Why are crayons sold in different colors?

    Because people like to use Different Colors Different Colors work for Different things

    For a 7 or 8 year old, 144 colors is 

    a lot more exciting and fun than the standard 8 colors, but 8 colors is a lot better than one color. Pink was NOT one of the 8 colors 60 years ago. Crayola's marketing people obviously understood that 127 years ago.

    because drawing a picture with a pink sun, and pink water, and pink trees, would just be silly.
