You will see bugs in it if kept too long, best is to out in freezer, it doesn't freeze but keeps it very cold, warms up fast when taken out and no bugs.

Just keep it dry and way from vermin and it will last for a long time.Keep it in a glass jar, or a dry cupboard away from damp, off the floor level.

Store refined flour in a cool, dry place. Refined flours have a shelf life of 1-2 years, so as long as they are stored in a cool, dry spot. Put your container of flour in a cabinet or the pantry. Look for a sour scent to indicate rancid flour.

You can freeze flour
Stores in a cool dark place it will last for quite a while. The only problem you might have is bugs like pantry moths. If you have none in the house now freeze the flour for a while that would kill off any eggs that might be in the flour.

If you have it in a sealed container, white will last a year at room temperature and up to two if you freeze it, and whole wheat will last up to three months at room temperature, six months in the fridge and a year if put in the freezer.

Flour does not freeze.
When I get flour, it goes straight from the store to the freezer.
I use flour at 0°F.
Is good, For pastry, you need cold butter, not oily. Cold flour keeps the butter cold.
