    For Cate, definitely The Gift. It's a great but dark mystery.

    Sigourney, I'll go with Death and the Maiden and The Year of Living Dangerously. Both of those films are edge of your seat and brilliant to some degree. Though of course Aliens, Heartbreakers, Ghostbusters and many others are very good too. She also has a bit part in Annie Hall which is a great film. Even Avatar was good, and Working Girl.

    As for Jamie I'd say for sure Trading Places is the best film she's in. My Mom is almost, or was at least when they were young, a spitting image nearly of her. Like if I saw Jamie in the early 90's or earlier, I could have easily mistaken her for my own Mom for a moment.
