Music on a timer?

I would like to setup a way that an audio file starts playing automatically on a timer and turns off by it self. Any ideas how I could set this up? I prefer a way in wich i dont need an external laptop or pc for it to keep working

It would depend on what it is that is going to be playing the music. As Spacemissing says, a clock radio will do that. I have one at my bedside and I can set it to turn on at a time I program into it - I don't know how long it plays for but it does eventually turn off.

Clock radios have been doing that since the 1940s.

Ordinary plug-in timers can do it with almost any AC-powered radio

that has a physical (as opposed to electronic) power switch.

Some audio equipment manufacturers made timers from the 1970s through the 1990s

so that a high-performance stereo system could be the controlled sound source.

    There are other ways, too.

From this I hope you get the idea that you should

do some research on your own time.

Some MP3 players allow you to do that. They have a built-in clock and alarm and you can sleep and wake to music.
