    Unprocessed natural foods like seeds, corn, nuts, fruit and berries are best.

    That might not be the best idea. My mom used to make a snack for them of leftover bread crusts, butter and jelly Mostly the bread, not too much topping. They loved it.

    birds would not be harmed by it but I bet the squirrels, chipmunks and other critters will get to it first.

    Too chewy for birds and the added sugar could be harmful. Just use the normal seeds and nuts.
