What do you mean by training? That's rather vague.

Personality traits are developed throughout our lives.  Society determines what is acceptable and what is not.  Traits such as honesty, responsibility, self-control, integrity, etc. are valued by society as people with these traits rise to the top.  Traits such as dishonesty, irresponsibility, sloth, drug/alcohol abuse, etc. are not valued by society, but are learned through interaction with the poorest elements of society.  Therefore, individual personality traits are learned--not from institutional entities such as schools, but from society as a whole as to what is acceptable and what is not.  If your interaction with society condones poor character than that is what occurs in that segment of society.
