Yes all people from Krypton have powers when they are exposed to a yellow sunKryptons sun in red. Jor L sent his son in a rocket last minute (the explosion happened unexpectedly) to a planet where he would blend in.

They would have if they were on Earth. Superman wouldn't have had those powers on Krypton. He was sent as a baby because the planet was going to be destroyed.

Actually, in an early version of the story, YES, they did.  However DC Comics has a habit of rebooting it's continuity every so often and this idea got chucked in one of the reboots for the more popular idea that his race develops their powers only in the presence of a yellow star.  In other words, Superman is only Super here on Earth.

He got sent to Earth because Krypton was about to be destroyed.  Again, exact reasons for that destruction vary from incarnation to incarnation, but the consistent part is that Jor-El, Superman's father, was a brilliant scientist (and sometimes political leader as well) who realized Krypton's destruction was coming just a fraction earlier than everyone else and was able to get his son to safety but lacked the time to get anyone else to safety.

Earth was chosen because human and Kryptonians look alike and because the yellow sun powers would keep Superman safe.

    No, they didn't.

Superman only got his powers by absorbing radiation from our younger, yellow sun. Krypton had an older red sun which inhibited their powers. Only by getting away from it to a younger sun do Kryptonians have powers.

On krypton, they don’t have any special powers. It’s only the yellow sun that gives Superman his powers. So any khryptonians that arrives on earth would have the same powers as Superman (Supergirl has the same powers as him). Despite having the same powers, Superman is a lot stronger due to living on earth longer. Superman gets his powers from absorbing sunlight and since he’s been here longer, he’s been storing the sun’s energy for a longer period of time so he’s been slowing building and storing his power.

He was sent to earth because krypton was about to explode and there was only 1 ship available which was only big enough to fit a baby, so jor-el (Superman’s biological dad) put Kal-el on the ship and sent him to earth because humans and kryptonians look similar.

I read the original Superman origin comic when I was a kid.  It wasn't the first edition, they re-issued it every few years.  So I know the canonical Superman.  But in the last few movies he's been 'reinvented' a little, to be more contemporary.

The deal is, Planet Krypton was much bigger than earth so it had a much higher gravity.  70 times as much.  An ant on earth can lift 70 times his own weight.  A flea can jump the equivalent of a man jumping a mile!  Superman's race were like ants on Planet Krypton.  So when Superman came to earth, as a baby, he quickly learned he had strength unlike normal kids because the gravity was much less than he was  used to.

Originally, Superman could 'jump tall buildings in a single bound' but he couldn't fly!  It was kind of like flying so then they made him fly.  As years went by he acquired more and more super powers as they became useful in the stories.  The writers kind of made them up as they went along.

Years later I read a comic that was kind of a retrospective of Superman as an infant.  It showed his mom, Martha Kent, making him his first Superman suit out of three baby blankets that were in the space capsule.  The cloth was soft but so tough and durable that she wasn't able to cut it, so she drew a line and little Clark used his heat vision to cut the cloth.  Now that could never have happened in the first few years of the comic because he didn't have laser vision.  I couldn't tell you where he picked up laser vision.  Just one day he had it.

In the first Superman movie with Christopher Reeve, Superman was able to reverse time by flying backwards around the earth at the speed of light.  Funny, in all these years I had never seen him do that before!

Even better, in the second movie he could erase memories with a kiss, and let's not forget his 'wall fixing vision' in the fourth film.

Yes, on Krypton everyone was "Human". It was only when Kal-El left their solar system that he "gained" the powers.

Originally, "Superman" was just able to  Muscleman and Leaps. The story expanded over the years

"Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap (over)  tall buildings in a single bound..."

His daddy (Jar-El) was a "scientist",  when the their planet was going into its death throes daddy built a spaceship to send his son away to earth.

Over the years, the back story has changed to fit the needs of the then current story.

Yes as proven by his cousin, the lovely Supergirl. He was placed in a spacecraft and sent away just before Krypton exploded. Supergirl was sent in a separate craft to watch over him but was lost in space for a time. By the time she arrived on Earth, he had already grown up.

In the Superman Film from 70's, his Father explains that his super-high molecular density give him super powers when on Earth - presumably all of his race would have developed this.

His Father sent him to Earth on a space-ship because his homeworld was about to blow up, no one else there would listen, after Superman left, the home planet was destroyed.

Superman's powers derive from yellow sunlight.  Krypton had a red sun, so the people of his planet were normal.  On the other hand, Kryptonians were all genetically faster, stronger, longer lived, and more intelligent than any normal human.
